The market breadth on the BSE ended positive with 1,636 shares advancing and 1,082 shares declining.
The market breadth in BSE ended healthy with 2,019 advancing and 740 shares declining.
A total of 2,912 shares were traded on the BSE today.
The Nifty ended down 29 points at 4,750.
The broader market breadth ended weak with 1,509 stocks advancing and 1189 shares declining.
BSE market breadth was negative. Out of 2,842 stocks traded so far, 1,827 shares declined and 887 shares advanced.
Manufacturing output, which constitutes about 76 per cent of the industrial production, fell by an annual 6 per cent, the Statistical Office said.

The Nifty index closed at 4,832, up 27 points.
